Michigan Wedding Photographers | Chic wedding at The Whitney Detroit
My love affair with Detroit started when I was young. I always had a strong appreciation with things that were classic. It started with cars, I remember helping my dad fix his Austin Healey in our driveway. I adored the style of this car, the small details were what fascinated me the most. That love of details lead me to gain an interest in older buildings and antiques. Still to this day I am fascinated with unique things, things that can tell a story. The Whitney is one of those buildings that create that feeling of nostalgia for me.
Every time I walk into this building I am brought back to a time when Detroit was fabulous. I imagine the streets filled with classic cars, people walking to Sunday brunch and I can almost see the classic homes full of life again. These feelings always leave me a sense of wonder. Wonder of who lived here, what they were like and what it was like to live in such an amazing place.
I have to think couples who choose such unique venues share in my love for historic elements. Paul and Kathleen were a truly amazing couple with a stunning wedding to match! I mean look at how these two interact! Our day started with details of the bride and groom alone, then we moved on to a first look in the Whitney Garden. The couple shared quite thoughts and stolen glances, sweet kisses and warm embraces as we captured their Nov wedding.
We moved into the Whitney where they were surrounded by their closest family to say their private vows. Meaningful words were exchanged, rings placed carefully and a unity candle lit, both parties said “I do” and sealed their day with a kiss.
